The One
The Jet Li movie from a while back. When Bob and I broke into Monica's house yesterday, I decided I was going to rent this dvd from Jo-Buster (as opposed to BlockBuster- Monica's sister). Bob said it was okay, and I took it thinking it'd be cool to finally see it. I watched it last night. It was a lot like The Matrix in many respects. It had some really cool scenes, however, I found some shortcomings in the plot, and the main antagonist's abilities. I was also somewhat disappointed that we didn't get to find out what happens if there's only one embodiment of life force energy in all of the universes. Let down! I did think it ended on a happy note. The main female interest was cute, and I liked Delroy Lindo's performance in this much better than I liked him in Romeo Must Die. Maybe thats cuz he wasn't playing an ass, but whatever. Meanwhile, I liked the plot's simplicity, though farfetched and somewhat bogus, I was however disappointed in its execution, and the agency that was supposed to maintain order in the Multiverse. However, if you want to look past that, and just see it for its kickass martial arts, and sweet stunt type stuff, I suggest giving it a view. Decent, but badly executed plot. Semi-decent character development. Sweet special effects. Mediocre as far as movie's go, but worth checking out if you like special effects/martial arts wrapped in a nice little package.
