Oddly Wasted Day

I managed to do damn near nothing today. I wore striped lounge pants the whole day - in case you didn't know, lounge pants = pajama pants. I showered at about 1:45am, post-pizza. And so my bedhead was severe, I did not do anything to remedy the situation.. which was exacerbated (nickel-word) by my four cowlicks - it's pretty scary.
The highlight of the day would have to be my learning the name (Kara, at least I think it's with a "K") of the cute girl that works at the dining hall with the unbelievable-crystal blue eyes (unreal), with dark hair (I bet dyed - meh), soft skin, and just..err.. perdy. Not to mention she comped me a brownie, smiled when she saw me for the second time, and even gave me a wave! - this is a big deal because I was poorly dressed, with bad hair, and hadn't shared a conversation with her in a few days. I look forward to our next run-in.
The other fun note of the day was my spending four hours with my roommate and friends in "Tri-Phi" (room 555, where Marshall and Wes, the friends live).. blowing up balloons, to be placed in one of the roommate's room (who was not present). When all was said and done, we had filled one room completely full of balloons, and many trash bags filled with air. My only regret is that I wasn't there to see his face when he opened the door to his room. It was a most impressive effort as well, we started with four people and 400 balloons, and piqued at seven people - three girls who breathed new life into our decreasing productivity.
Otherwise, I watched most of Major Payne, 3/4 of Happy Gilmore, 40 minutes of this week's Enterprise, and five minutes of the pre-game to the Lakers/Suns game - which I regretfully missed to blow up balloons.
In other news, the RA called some sort of emergency floor meeting while Matt and I were doing the balloon-thing, and when we got back, our side of the floor was convened and chatting sans the RA. As we walked past them someone said "You guys missed the floor meeting, assholes." To which I responded, "Wasn't the first, won't be the last." And we left them behind. (Note: Neither of us has been to a floor meeting yet this year, nor do we plan to break the streak) The floor was still a messy, and as I came out to wash up to take part in my sub, a neighbor was tidying up a bit. Apparently, Desmond/Derek (or if you insist on his real name, Davoud) decreed that everyone would clean up a little bit until it was spick-and-span. Of course, the floor was dirty at the time I learned this, and I ignored it.
At this point, I would honestly rather be written up sooner than forced to clean up after any of the miscreants that I dorm with now. Should, over the course of the next three months, ever come the knock on my door of an RA asking me to clean up a mess in the hall, I will politely instruct him or her (most likely her, as history dictates) to write me up, simultaneously declining their request. I have no qualms about speaking to the Hall Director if the need arise. Old man? Yep. Maid? No. - At the same time, I do not believe the women who clean our bathroom should have to deal with the filth that these boys have wrought. Incidentally, just last week, a small repair crew was called in to fix the damage done by some of the children on this floor... I believe they took a baseball bat to a wall.. a number of times causing extensive damage that police were called in to document it prior to the reconstruction.
Rant done. Day pretty much wasted.
Tomorrow's To-Do List:
-Bank run to deposit Chanukah Check from Grandmother
-Target run to purchase Gatorade, Detergent, Stridex (not that there's an acne crisis or anything), and Orange Juice (hopefully I won't forget it when comes the time, as I have every time I've made this list for the past four days)
-Read someone's criticism of the Code of Hammurabi
-Read a handout about Bush's budget for the coming year
-Add some sentences to a Spanish composicion about "Mi Mejor Amigo/a"
Not too shabby, the real tough part is the motivation to get off campus after class/work. Which is why I've yet to deposit that check.. ha!
