Older Women and Tans

-I have always, always, always liked older women (and I still do). Of course, as time goes by, the age difference has shrunk dramatically (and I am no longer, technically, jailbait). Though, as things go, age isn't so much a factor as.. well, the woman...

"and I have a fake tan, thank you very much. i have to or i'd look gothic. so there!"
-I mean no disrespect to you, and I don't mean to offend but that implies you may wear too much make-up. I'd love to see you tanless and make-up-less!! Eh? :)

On to business...
Today, I woke up relatively late. I had an exam in Anthropology at 9:30am, so I calculated a shower post-exam. Walked speedily to my exam, found a moderately uncomfortable seat, and sat down. Tests were soon passed out, and I got to work. Whizzed through it, and was about the fifth person done. I made it back to my room by 10, at which time I took a shower. Got all gussied up, some clothes I have make me feel just.. well, downright sexy (that's not girly, that's healthy body image - everyone needs to feel sexy sometime!.. and I had the spare time). Yada Yada Yada. Got to work, my replacement arrived, and we conferred over the Anthropology test (we're in the class together), and we only found a few discrepancies between our tests - I'm pretty sure we both got A's if not high B's. Hippety, hoppety, doppety doo. I kind of, accidentally, sort of, helped Mari sprain her ankle on Saturday, so she wasn't really in proper shape to get her tomato on this evening, and I had to fly solo. But I had about two hours to kill between finding out and having to go. So I called my sister, and we talked... and talked... and talked.

We talked for over 100 minutes! A modern record. I caught her up to speed on classes I'm taking, my social life, my Salsa dancing (she thought that was pretty funny), we clarified what my mother had managed to mis-transmit onward. Allow me to give an example. Here at Boulder, we have something called the International Film Series, it's exactly what it sounds like. I told my mother that tomorrow night was Fight Club, with Brad Pitt and Ed Norton. After a brief moment of silence, she asked me, and I'm not kidding here, "Are you a member?" Needless to say I was dumbfounded. Fight Club was a pretty big movie, Brad Pitt and Ed Norton are known for their acting.. and the icing on the cake is, it is part of the International Film Series. Despite all the clues, she still missed it. Argh! - My sis and I talked about being a Film Major, and she gave me a few pointers, because she .. actually graduated with a Film degree, after all. And she almost insisted that I get a Business degree along with my Film degree. Period, hands down, a must. It's not a big alteration of plans or anything, currently I'm four classes away from acquiring a Business minor, the only difference is .. well actually a bunch of classes, and an intra-university transfer, no big deal. I think I still will be here for four or five more semesters. And so that is the task at hand, along with finding Off-Campus Housing for Matt and myself to go take a look at for Monday. What an exciting time to be alive!

Salsa Dancing was awesome tonight, we had only half the normal group show up. And the girls outnumbered the guys by about three. It was a much more personal gathering. I managed to learn names of all the females, and they mine (well, both anyway.. I'll give you a hint, one is Scully). I, like normal, had a wonderful time, and even have a few mini-crushes.. but that is to be expected, I crush non-stop. Moving along, afterward I lifted weights, ended up losing two pounds, and getting a good exercise in. Went upstairs to stretch and after I finished, I was about to walk downstairs when a guy in hockey skates called me over, and asked me to do him a big favor. I was like ... what is it? And he proceeded to tell me that he thought he had broken his shoulder, and needed help untying, and taking off his skates. So, I nervously and rapidly attempted to remove his skates.. unfortunately, it was by no means quick, he got out of them, and ran off. I went my way, and ever so slowly walked home. Until I came here, got caught up on all that is going on with all of you, and posted this.

Another note on tans. I think they're unhealthy, and I fear skin cancer is going to be a massive problem in the not too distant future. Besides the way I understand it, tans are simply dead skin cells.. and who wants that? Fake-tans which give you a "healthy" orange glow are .. odd, not sexy. To my knowledge, orange is not a naturally occurring skin color. And for that matter, I recall reading an article in Self (Mari's, not mine, thanks) about these people who are like tan-a-holics, and they go to the tanning salon four plus times a week thinking it's fine and dandy for them, because its a different kind of UV ray, but.. it's not, and they find out the hard way. Not that it matters, because the people are addicted to tanning, "beauty" at any cost in this day and age, don'tcha know?

In summation, I'm sorry if I've offended anyone, these are mostly my opinions.. and Vickie, I apologize if you took offense, that was by no means the intent of my response.

Huggles to the lot of you.
