Friendship
I don't have very many unattractive friends; that said, I do have female friends I am not attracted to. Most of my friends are very laid back, and find things to do instead of go to parties, get drunk, get stoned, or randomly hook-up with people they don't plan on speaking to again. Don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for most of those, but they aren't common, every day occurrences for the folks with which I most often associate.
Girls and ..Pretty
To me, the most important feature is the face. Don't get me wrong, I like the female form just as much as the nextguy. But bodies change; weird things happen to bodies - Gravity, aging, etc. Faces are different. For instance, you can look at the faces of old people, and compare them to pictures of them when they were younger, and you can tell it's the same person. Faces stay with you; Bodies are fleeting. Take for example my uncle, he was a pretty thin guy when he got married, he probably weighed around 170-190 pounds; 20 years later, he weighs well over 300 pounds. You look at his wedding photo, you look at his face today, and it is easy to tell, it's the same guy.
I look at magazine covers, and pretty bodies are in no short supply, but pretty bodies with pretty faces on top of them... those are not as common. Another thing about faces, make-up. Some girls just cake it on, this drives me nuts. Granted some need it, but some don't, and instead they hide behind it. I don't get it, then again I'm a guy.
Hair
Another thing, Hair! Holy crap, why do so many girls want to be blonde? There is nothing wrong with having dark hair! Most often, I actually prefer girls with naturally dark hair. Highlights, streaks..blah. Few cases necessitate the drastic change of dying your hair. Girls these days often don't know what their natural hair color is, and that's kind of disconcerting. Granted eyebrows and roots are a good indication, they just aren't sure. "I think it's something like this.. or maybe that, you know." So many girls have ruined their beautiful hair and changed it to this off-yellow, unnatural color that doesn't exist in the real world. I can understand blue, green, purple, and that fake red... that's a statement you're trying to make, even if it gets lost to itself in distraction. Some of the most attractive girls I've seen just kept it simple. Nice, simple, soft, brown hair. - Or do girls dye it because they can't attain that? What's the deal?
Humor and Friendship
Sense of humor. This is the most important quality of any friendship. If you can't laugh, won't laugh, just flat don't get jokes, or are incapable of sensing sarcasm... I don't want to be friends with you. Laughter is my big thing, I love laughing, I love making people laugh, I love seeing smiles induced by something funny. That being said, I like smiling because of something funny that was said. When it's just you and me, and nothing else, if we can't at the very least laugh with one another - what's the point?
