So, it was a nice day outside today, and I got together with my bud Brad to play some basketball like we did this past Monday. And we got into a real game, 5 on 5. And two things became very apparent. One, I can not make a wide-open layup to save my life, and Two, I hustle and play defense like a madman. I still managed to make a beautiful outside jump shot before I resorted to playing defense. My individual play of the game was stopping a 3 on 1 fast break by my lonesome. Reading a pass, and then pressuring ensuing shots before grabbing a rebound and pushing the ball back up court. It was awesome.

Friday was a ridiculously long day. Not because it was, but it felt like it lasted 30 hours. Woke up at 8, worked 9:30-12:30, had class 1:00-1:50, ate lunch from 2:00-2:45, went to Film Studies and was there from 3:05-4:35, came back to my room, and took a nap. Woke up at 6:35 to get ready for Hillel, went to Hillel, had a good time at Shabbat dinner and met someone new, a cute girl who I look forward to interacting with again shortly. Funny thing happened there. A candle got knocked over, it hit the wall, and started a brief fire but it burnt out. Of course, people freaked out, and we had to evacuate because they were afraid the fire was in the walls. The fire department was called.

About five minutes after we were all out of the building. The fire trucks began showing up. One, then the second, then the third, and then, we got a fourth. It must've been a slow night. We had a fire chief, an ambulance, and two police cars. It was an impressive showing of force for a false alarm. But, hey, that's what they're there for, right? About twenty minutes later we were allowed back in. And if where the candle had fell against the wall hadn't had brick behind it, we'd be designing a new H-House sometime during the coming week. Close one!

After the false alarm, I ended up hanging out with Ross, killing time before we went to the Rec Center to play Racquetball and Basketball. Went over to his dorm, looked up this cute girl who happened to be a resident of the same building, and we wandered over to her part of the building on a "tour." It just so happened that across from the stairwell we exited from to get to this girl's part of the building, we ran into Jenn. Scary. Jenn and I have history that I won't go into, but I bet I had that dear-in-the-headlights look when I saw her. We wandered around, and found the girl's door, but she wasn't in. I met a couple of Ross's buds, and we hung out chatting for over an hour. I love chatting with knew people. And then Ross and I headed out to do the competitive exercise thing.

Racquetball, the losing streak continues, I'm 2-9 against Ross now. I blew a 7 point lead in the second game, to lose 16-14. Yet another unbelievable collapse on my part. Then we went over and played Basketball, I gave Ross the standard 8 points. And I ended up winning 15-10 again. Kicked his ass, I was shooting well.

Came back to my room, watched a South Park rerun and went to bed a little after 1:30am. All in all, an 18 hour day, but that nap really screwed things up as far as perception of time goes. S'okay, probably helped me sleep.

Nighters!
