What's That Light?

I woke up this morning, my room was bright, and I thought to myself, hot damn, it's time to get up already? I moved my left leg toward the edge of the bed to slide out and find the corresponding flip-flop. But then I pondered the source of the light, and opted to toss on my glasses and check the time. It was 5:11, and the light was from my roommate reading.. and falling asleep at some point. Poor guy has had hell this week from exams and papers.. two exams today, and two papers in the past two days. I, myself, don't have midterms until next week. Between Tuesday and Thursday, I have 3 papers and 2 exams - and I absolutely can not get motivated to write any of the papers.. the exams are going to be a breeze. One paper is due per day, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. And two of the three are potentially interesting, but the third is basically a description of film for five long pages. I'll probably rent the movie to make it interesting, so I can watch the whole thing instead of just a 2 minute snippet. Getting the context (which for the purpose of the paper is irrelevant) but hey, I've never seen Psycho. Yay for tangents.

When I woke up at the ungodly hour, I felt off. Posture, alignment, whatever you call it, something wasn't right. I rolled over and went back to sleep. 8:00 sharp, I awaken to blaring alarm clock sound (music, talking, I'm not sure, but it sure was loud). And, I've had a headache since.

Singles Awareness Day (what some like to call "Valentine's Day")is but 26 hours away, and I'm excited, not because I have someone to share an intimate day with.. obviously why I referred to it as S.A.D., but because I get to sleep in, and go to an exciting basketball game as my #12 ranked Colorado Buffaloes (18-3) take on the #1 (AP), #2 (Coach's poll) ranked Texas Longhorns (22-2) (which, if I'm not mistaken is where a number of the Box is being edumacated). I can't wait to see Tera Bjorklund, Maria Billingsley, Randy Wirt, Veronica Johns-Richardson, Kate Fagan, Emily Waner (my favorite) take the floor against the Lockhorns Saturday night. Regardless of the outcome, it should be entertaining. Go Lady Buffs! - Is that a commentary on the state of the rest of the school's athletic teams? Men's Football (controversy-ridden and not very good to boot, dear lord!) and Men's Basketball (they're lucky to be invited to the beginning of the Madness that is March). But the Women's Basketball team.. I like it, they're competitive and they're good. Definitely worth the cost of the tickets.. even if it is free (beats the piss out of paying to watch the Men lose). And the itty, bitty masogenist in me is yelling at the top of his little lungs, from deep in my gut, "They're cute too!"

Th-Th-That's all... for now... folks!
