I think I've talked about this before... its how I don't like how "How are you?" or "How ya doin'?" have gone from being a question with an open-ended answer to a stated-greeting that you can't answer.

"How are you."
"Sup."

Or, if it is answered it is:
"How are you?"
"I'm good, how are you?"
"Good."

No emotion. You're not doing good, you just said it not to burden the other person with whats going on with you.
What's going on in here?! *pounds his chest* If I ask, I usually really want to know. How are you? Whats going on? - If you don't want to know, don't bloody ask, alright?

I got over "Sup." becoming "Hello." But I am not going to get over this, and I'm not going to lose it without a fight!

I was in line for a sandwich the other day, and Marshall (my friend) saw Bridgette (a friend of his) and the conversation went as follows:

Marshall: "Hey Bridgette, how are ya?"
Bridgette: "I'm okay, how are you?"
Marshall: "I'm outstanding!

He said it with such enthusiasm, I couldn't appreciate it at the time.

Bridgette: "Really?"
Marshall: "No, not really, but if I say it, it gets me that much closer."

In the immortal words of Peter Griffin, "HOLY CRAP!"

Mind blowing idea, even if it is a lie...either way it beats the hell outta: "good" and "alright."
